Maija Kovalevska is the founder and head teacher of Healing Hands Edinburgh, a Reiki school based in Edinburgh.
A Reiki practitioner for over 16 years and a teacher for more than 9 years, she guides students through all levels of the Original Usui Reiki System, including her Teacher Training programme.

Born and raised in Riga, Latvia, Maija has lived in the UK since 2010. Her professional background includes work as a massage therapist in a chiropractic clinic, which shaped her grounded, body-based approach to wellbeing and energy practice.

Since establishing the school in 2017, Maija has trained hundreds of students, many of whom now practise professionally, and mentored Reiki teachers who have gone on to establish their own teaching practices. Her teaching integrates life energy awareness, mindfulness, and self-reflection, supporting students in developing presence and resilience in daily life.

Alongside leading the school, Maija is also the founder of Grounded Energies — a platform for educational talks on self-awareness, wholeness, and conscious living.
